Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE) can prevent ACEs and toxic stress from happening to children in the first place, and can also reduce the impact of ACEs, keeping their brains and bodies on track for healthy development. ACEs are what happened to us. They do not define who we are. Our history — and our future — is not fully written yet. It’s up to us to decide what’s in the next chapter.

Talking about feelings
It's also really important to talk about how we feel. When we tell others how we feel, it helps us understand and process past experiences. However, we should only talk about tough stuff when people are ready, and not force a conversation.

We Can Prevent ACEs
ACEs are traumatic for children, but the good news is we can do something about them.
